Ayris: Mom, I'm just going to sit like this, real careful so I don't hurt my toe more.
Mom: Okay, good.
Ayris: Yeah, but when it's all better, I'm going to start doing all of the stupid things that you don't like me doing again.
Good to know. Ayris has been wanting to move the couch cushions to the bottom of the stairs so she can jump from 5-6 stairs up...she's also been jumping off the couches, etc...and I keep telling her that she needs to settle down since she's got this toenail that is hanging on by nothing. Well yesterday, Asher drove over it with his dump truck and it started bleeding everywhere...then at the zoo, it was rolled over by a stroller and then someone stepped on it and it started bleeding again...I'm not sure how it's EVER going to heal, short of purchasing some kids size steel toed boots...but it's good to know that Ayris is already planning in advance all of the "stupid things" she plans on doing once it's all healed.
This was a few weeks ago, but as I was getting out of the shower, I heard Ayris say "Asher! Daddy's home!"...when I walked out, I told Ayris that Daddy wasn't home, to which she replied "I know, I just didn't want Asher bothering me anymore so I told him that Daddy was home" (Anytime Chris gets home, both kids run and hide and then he's supposed to find them...so Ayris, being the smart one that she is, decided she'd just tell Asher he was home, so he'd go hide and leave her alone) =)
And then, Asher, as I was typing this up, just proclaims, "Mom, I'm going to go pee on the couch!"....Um...no you're not buddy, go get on your frog!..."Okay, mom" (with a bit of defeat in his voice)...it was nice of him to give me a heads up though so I could decline his generous offer of allowing me yet another thing to clean up after today. I've got to give the kid props though because twice now, I have caught him wiping up pee on the floor after he's gone potty. If he doesn't hold it down enough, it shoots out and over the toilet...the sucky thing is that I'm not always in the bathroom with him...so I'm not convinced I've caught him each time he's wiped up pee in the bathroom, which...leads me to believe, he's probably had some pee covered fingers poking at my face...or even worse, going into my mouth when we play the "biting fingers" game. YUCK.
Here are a few pictures from the zoo today:
Yes, those are Ayris' pink shoes that he's wearing...had it been up to him, he would have been wearing her pink ballerina underwear as well...he was bummed that his spiderman ones were in the laundry so Ayris' were his second choice...luckily I persuaded him into some lovely spongebob ones! And watering some flower pots outside yesterday...
Not sure what was so funny here...
Posing in the kitchen...
Doesn't it look like they're heading off to their first day of school? Remember when they were babies? Yeah, it's starting to escape me too...sucks. Notice Asher's shoes...one of them is the boy crocs I bought for him and the other is his sisters mary jane crocs...at least he got them on the right feet though!
Ayris decided she wanted the entire page of tattoos put on her back...after seeing them, I told Chris that it wasn't going to bother me when/if the kids got tattoos, to which he responded that of course it wouldn't because it would be hypocritical of me...I told him that had nothing to do with it because I planned on being hypocritical in plenty of other areas...things I might have done in the past or tried but would prefer them not to do.
Sophie unfortunately had what seemed like a hundred knots in her fur so we took her to get shaved...I'm sure she feels MUCH better. And no, I don't normally feed the cat her treats on the kitchen table but I wanted to get some pictures of her and Asher had been sitting and scooting bare butt naked all over the table previously...so it was going to need some washing anyway =)...of which, I will admit, has yet to be done!
