Catching up....

It was busy last week and I don't think I had time to really pay attention to the cute/annoying things the kids were doing....I'm trying to "simplify" the house...in order to do that, lots of things needed to be cleaned out (the safe room...the garage) and some furniture needed to be moved over to Chris' dads (chair, TV/TV stand) and then rearranged (computer going into our room so the loft could be more kid friendly.) Here is Asher trying to help:

When moving the computer/desk into our bedroom, I had the phenomenal idea of spray painting it black so it would match the room a little better (it was a natural wood color)...I decided against taking apart the desk and lugging it down to the garage and instead, spray painted it in our bedroom. I moved it to our bedroom before painting as to keep the fumes away from the crib in the loft and the kids room...lo and behold...spray paint fumes travel fast and into every little crevice. Well it turned out, one little can of paint wasn't going to cut it either...I had to go to Home Depot and get 2 more cans (which didn't exactly finish the job either)...

The kids were gone during the majority of this time but once they got home and I moved the desk into place, I noticed that the carpet was black...you couldn't really tell it was black until the tarp was moved and all the carpet underneath that part was beige...then there was a huge, noticeable difference...I thought I had shampooed most of it out but the whole family's feet continue to have black on the bottoms so, I'm going to be shampooing again today.

The other big task we had was getting the kids new bunk bed from the warehouse and built in their room. Luckily, Chris did all of the work:

Asher sleeping for the first time in the bottom bunk:

Ayris was on the top but you can't see her...

Anyway, the thing weighs about 3K pounds so it's there to stay...matter of fact, Chris in the process of putting it together informed me that we weren't ever moving because he didn't want to deal with this bed again =)
Some other things that I've been meaning to post pictures of:
This is the kids playing with the stuff I used to play with growing up...of course, their version was a little less ghetto than what I remember...I had a little stick with a tube of goo...they had an actual blow tool that fastened onto the goo tube:

This is them on the jump jump...not the best picture in the world but the only one with both of them!
Asher playing mini golf:

Ayris looking all grown up:

Ayris passed out like a rockstar:

Ayris found these little pink bands on a bear of mine...and she found a way to accessorize them:

This was a picture of a bunch of free stuff I had gotten in the past...add to it about 6 rolls of toilet paper (the TP, and both sets of shampoos came from survey companies where they send the product out and then you just do a survey on it after you've used it), about 8 more tubes of toothpaste, 2 more deodorants, 4 bags of catfood, 120 band aids, 32 crest strips and counting, another check, 12 first aid kits, 8 softsoaps, 2 bodywashes, an enormous amount of school supplies and a lot more I can't remember...I should be receiving three packages of diapers today in addition to 3 $20 visa gift cards and 2 $25 giftcards...it sounds like a lot of free stuff but it's also been a lot of work! I actually went into Target one day last week to get some pants I liked and found it somewhat refreshing to not have one single coupon when paying...I was not, however, impressed with my $51 bill. Sucks to spend that much on anything now!

Oh! And a few more things Ayris said that I've been meaning to jot down:
Ayris: Hop, hop, hop, hop (in a sing song sort of way)
Mommy: Are you saying that like a bunny?
Ayris: Um, no mommy, I'm saying that in English.
Last night putting Ayris to bed:
Actually, you should know that Ayris and I are one in the same when it comes to going to sleep...we first have to shut up before it hits us that we're exhausted. Last night, she kept talking and talking...and talking:
Mommy: Ayris, I'm not going to lay in here with you unless you stop talking.
Ayris: Okay.
10 seconds later.
Ayris: Did you know I changed Shadows name to Bozzy.
Mommy: Great, remember what I just said?
Ayris: Oh yeah, to be quiet.
10 seconds later.
Mommy: Is this bed comfortable enough for you? (The bottom bunk is rock solid in my opinion)
Ayris: Yeah, I like it fine...HEY MOMMY! I'm not supposed to be talking and if I'm not talking, then I need you to stop talking too!
Shame on mommy!
